Henley Beach

Henley Beach is the perfect serene atmosphere for those looking to relax for the afternoon. To get there, visitors can enjoy a picture-perfect walk along the River Torrens Linear Park Trail, which begins in the bustling centre of the city. Once there, you can stroll out on the long dock which offers exceptional views of both the coastal region and the ocean beyond. After spending a couple of hours on the shore, you can head to the nearby seafood restaurants and feast on the local fish catches, washing it down with some of the popular Adelaide sparkling wine!

Maslin Beach

Found in the suburbs of Adelaide, Maslin Beach is one of the local secrets of the area. A cliff line recreation reserve with crystal clear water, folk head here to escape the crowds and enjoy the truly delightful scenery this beach promises. Those looking for an unusual experience, head to the southern half of the beach, as this is officially a nudist beach, being one of the very first nudist beaches in all of Australia.

Semaphore 

A long stretch of sand featuring with a smooth wooden board that spans out the majority of the beachfront. The entire region is picturesque, with locals biking along the boardwalk and others fishing off the dock. The beach is dotted with beautifully preserved Art Deco buildings, with even the famous Semaphore’s Palais, a historic bathing pavilion from the 1920s. Nowadays it is a restaurant and bar, letting you enjoy both the beauty of the building as well as the beach’s as you enjoy a delicious glass of wine.

Glenelg Beach

By far one of Adelaide’s most popular beach is the easiest to access from the metropolitan region. A family-friendly beach, chock-a-block with both locals and tourists visiting the region, just hop on the tram from the city and you’ll be there in no time! Attached to the beach is Jetty Road, a busy street jam-packed with cafes, restaurants, boutique shops and more! Many of the food stops have balconies or outdoor seating spots to let you enjoy your food while overlooking the beautiful Glenelg beach.

Christie’s Beach

For those looking for a truly peaceful experience, head to this quiet beach. Christies Beach is so large, even if a couple of groups are hanging about, you’ll have plenty of room to enjoy your privacy. Stroll along this picture-perfect beach, and soak up the sun as you spend your morning or afternoon in the soft sands.
