Deep within the lush greenery that is the ancient Daintree Rainforest, lies a private tourism reserve named Jungle Surfing. It is one of Queensland’s must-do activities, being a unique and exhilarating way to experience the world heritage listed rainforest, all without touching the ground!

That’s right, Jungle Surfing allows guests to fly through the air! Attached from the flying fox ziplines, whizzing from each of the six platforms spread out across the forestland. With the team of specialists helping you every step of the way!

The Highlights of Jungle Surfing

The Epic Views

Undoubtedly one of the most obvious advantages of Jungle Surfing is the views. The platforms stretch from 7 to 16 metres tall. Showcasing every level of the rainforest, including the emergent layer, canopy, understory, and forest floor. The ziplines attached range from 37 to 95 metres, allowing you to travel in pairs while you see the sights. There is only one line that requires only solo travelling, as it gives you an upside-down option.

The Wildlife Viewing

Due to its size and age, the Daintree Rainforest is home to an impressive range of plants and animals. Listed as the most biologically diverse rainforest in the entire world. The tropical plants make up the entire setting of the rainforest, with over 3,000 different plants stretched across the region. The plants are ancient beings here, with the 19 leftover primate plants families remaining on earth, the Daintree is home to 12 of them. The range of species is wide, with large looming trees, long wrapping vines, and unusual flowering plants. Jungle surfing allows you to see all these types of plants, as you whiz through the tops of the trees and vines of the forest.

The animals are all wild within the jungle surfing, but there is still a high chance that you can see them. With birds, insects, and reptiles all common sightings, whether fluttering along the tops of the trees or roaming along the branches.

Having Less of a Footprint

Climate change is a growing threat to the Daintree Rainforest, with the atmosphere changing into an unstable enviroment. The Jungle surfing program is aware of this mounting threat, which is why they created this unquie tourism experience. Preventing any footprint by simply leaving the forest untouched as traveller whiz through the air above. This can give you a guilt-free experience as you can see this incredible environment without affecting the natural habitat.

Overall Jungle surfing made my trip a unforgettable one! Bringing both fun and informational into the journey! Definitely being one of the most exciting ways to see the famous Daintree Rainforest!
